Agnes Gilliland, 89, passed away on August 15, 2021, in the afternoon at Stonebridge Nursing Home, Duncannon, PA.   Agnes would like to thank her family, friends, and nurses at the home for their care during her final days.  She was a person to forever lovingly remember.

Born March 3, 1932, at home in East Waterford, where she lived all her life, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Evelyn (Fisher) Gilliland.  She is remembered as loving her family and friends, animals, and the beauty of the earth.  She always said, "GOD" kept her here to feed her animals.

Agnes attended the one-room schoolhouse in East Waterford and graduated from the Juniata Joint High School, class of 1951, where she was a member of the high school band and orchestra.  She also played saxophone in the East Waterford marching band for years.  She was a member and former Sunday School teacher at the East Waterford Presbyterian Church

She had been employed at the former Port Royal Sewing Factory and Spring Run Sport Waves Sewing Factory.

Her sisters, Romaine Ansell and Josephine Yeager preceded her in death.

Surviving are nieces and nephews, James M. Ansell; Donna R. Ansell Ellenberger; Robert L. Ansell and his wife, Deb; William H. Yeager and Diane R. Yovicich, and her husband, Tom.  Also surviving are nine grand-nieces and nephews, numerous great-grand nieces and nephews, and two great-great-grand nephews.

Viewing Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, after 10 AM followed by her funeral service at 11 AM in the East Waterford Presbyterian Church, 54 Church St., East Waterford, with Rev. John Park officiating.
