On the morning of June 2, 2026, Allen David Martin, of Shippensburg, PA, passed away peacefully at the age of 73, surrounded by those he loved, after a brief battle with cancer.

Allen was born in Franklin County, Pennsylvania on February 28, 1953, to the late Raymond and Cora Martin. He married the love of his life, Joyce Frey on May 10,1975, with whom he shared 51 happy years of marriage.

Allen was a builder in the Shippensburg area for a number of years, and also ran a small poultry business, Pinola Poultry.

He enjoyed traveling to see his children and grandchildren; helping and sharing in their lives in many practical ways. His heart's greatest desire was for them all to be faithful to God and the church and encouraged them in their walk with God, even at the very end of his life.

He was a lifelong member of the Rowe Mennonite Church in Shippensburg, PA , where he served with passion as a minister for 3 years and then as bishop for 25 years.

Allen's children and grandchildren were his greatest joy.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Martin,

48 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Surviving also are sister-in-law, Gail, (late Galen) Martin of Shippensburg, brothers, Eugene (Nancy) Martin of Newburg, Guy Martin of Lancaster, and Dwight, (Joanne) Martin of Shippensburg. He was preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Cora Martin, Step-mother, Helen (Boll) Martin, sister, Rosemary (George) Keener, and brother, Galen Martin.

Allen loved well, and was well loved. His quiet, humble wisdom will be greatly missed and remembered. His desire was to faithfully serve God and live in peace with all men. It is also his greatest wish that everyone accept the invitation that is given to all people, to come and dine with The Master at His table for all eternity.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00, at Rowe Mennonite Church, 754 Pinola Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Rowe Mennonite Church with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Officiating ministry will be George Burkholder, Mark Gayman, Arvin Martin and Jordan Wadel. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetary.
