Alton Stuart "Stu" Cranson, 76, of Warfordsburg, formerly of Chambersburg, passed away February16, 2024, in his home.

He was born September 27, 1947, in Chambersburg, a son of the late Lyman Stuart and Geraldine Clara (Piper) Cranson.

Master Sergeant Cranson was a highly decorated, honorably discharged, United States Army Ranger assigned to Special Operations Command, serving as a Green Beret.  Following his discharge from Patch Barracks Stuttgart, Germany in 1995, after a 24-year career of service in the military, he continued working in several governmental agencies.

A true patriot, Stu was a warrior in life and as he faced death.

Surviving are cousins.
