Ardell William Wadel, age 19, of Richfield, PA passed away in a vehicle accident Wednesday morning, August 5, 2026.

Born September 12, 2006, in Mifflintown, Ardell is a son of Nevin and Eunice (Diem) Wadel of Richfield, PA. He is also survived by 4 brothers, Andrew Wadel, husband of Jalissa, of Sidney, MT; Kelvin Wadel, husband of Esther, of Circle, MT; Kenton Wadel, husband of Alexis, of Port Royal, PA; and Kyler Wadel of Richfield, and 4 sisters, Kaylynne Weaver, wife of Kevin, of Aaronsburg, PA, Amanda Geigley, wife of Delvin, of McAlisterville, PA; Kimberly Wadel, her fiancé, Ronny Fowler, of Richfield, and Alonna Wadel of Richfield. Additional survivors include his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Vera Wadel, of Shippensburg, PA and maternal grandfather, Melvin Diem, of Shippensburg, as well as, 5 nephews and 7 nieces.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Grace Diem and step grandmother, Janet Diem.

Ardell was known for his smile and respectful, hard work. He was currently employed at Mifflintown Rental. Spoken by his employer, he “kept his mouth shut and worked!” His hobbies included hunting, observing community events, and spending time with family and friends.

The family will receive friends Sat., August 8, 2026, between 2 and 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM in the Cocolamus Mennonite Church, 51 Bunkertown Road, McAlisterville, PA and are invited to attend his funeral service Sun. at 2 PM in the Bunkertown Brethren Church, 52 Bunkertown Road, McAlisterville, PA Interment will follow in the Goodwill Cemetery, McAlisterville, PA.
