Husband, father and grandfather, Arthur E. Woods, 86, of Fannettsburg, went to be with his Heavenly Father on June 15, 2022.

He was born May 25, 1936 at home on Path Valley Road, Fort Loudon, to the late Thomas John and Flora Catherine (Corcelius) Woods.  He moved to Mount Joy, PA in 1962 with his loving wife of nearly 64 years, Shirley (Lynch) Woods, and worked at Franklin & Marshall College until he retired in 1999.  He also worked for the Bartlett Tree Co. in York County and as an orchard worker for Irvin Simmers and Appleway in Chambersburg.

Arthur was a member of the Lower Path Valley Presbyterian Church and the NRA.  He will be remembered for his spunky personality, kind spirit and his enjoyment of baseball, especially the Phillies, Nascar, particularly Fords, and World Wrestling Entertainment.  Those who knew Arthur best, will remember him as an avid hunter and fisherman, and has passed his love for the outdoors onto his family.

In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by his daughters, Cathy Bishop, Rexmont, PA, Penny Flannery, and her husband, Thomas, of Bingham, ME; 5 grandchildren, Andy, Amanda, Olon, Rachel, and Patrick and 6 great grandchildren, Wyatt, Hamdi, Emily, Lorelai, Natalie and Aasim. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Pat Woods.

Arthur was preceded in death by 5 brothers, John, Paul, Robert, an infant brother, and Richard, also 1 sister, Shirley.

Viewing at Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, Friday, June 17, 2022, between 5 and 7 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his graveside service Saturday, June 18, at 11 AM in Lower Path Valley Cemetery, Fannettsburg, with Pastor Ken Richards officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be to either Metal Fire & Ambulance Co., POB 185, or Lower Path Valley Presbyterian Church, POB 406, both of Fannettsburg, PA 17221.   www.agettlakjer.com
