Betty P. Geyer, 93, formerly of Fannettsburg, died July 5, 2023, in Celebration Villa, Shippensburg. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, James W. Geyer, on June 9, 1997.

Born Oct. 18, 1929, in Mowersville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Beulah (Smith) Ile.

In her younger years, she worked at the former Spring Run Sewing Factory and the Stanley Company in Chambersburg.  She was a seamstress and is remembered as being a stylish dresser.   She loved to bake, her specialty being apple pies.  Gardening and sitting in her favorite big chair watching TV were some of her favorite pastimes.

Betty had been a member of the Spring Run Bible Church and the auxiliary of American Legion Post 606, Fort Loudon.

In addition to her husband, James, she was also preceded in death by her only son, Robert D. Geyer on June 23, 2021.   Surviving is her beloved friend who cared for her as a daughter-in-law, Dena K. Hockenberry, of Chambersburg.  Also surviving are a grandson, James Robert Geyer and a step grandson, Toby Lee Hockenberry and his 2 sons, Tyler and Hunter; a stepdaughter, Patricia Geyer Zets and her husband, Dick, 3 step granddaughters, 4 step great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Kay Ile, of Spring Run.  Two brothers, Donald Ile and Frank Ile and his wife, Della, preceded her in death.

A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, July 10, 2023, in Path Valley Cemetery, 17173 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, PA with Pastor Marlin "Butch" Neil officiating.  www.agettlakjer.com
