Betty Lou Raukko, 77, affectionately known as "Stormy," passed away June 18, 2024 in Laurel Lakes Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, Chambersburg.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Reino Raukko, in 2007.

Born July 23, 1946, in Fullerton, Baltimore County, Maryland, she was a daughter of the late William A. and Dorothy E. (Johnson) Kirkendall.  She formerly resided in Taneytown, MD, Mercersburg, Chambersburg and Shippensburg prior to entering the nursing home.

Betty was a self-employed artist and poet.  A Quaker-Methodist, she was known as the "Bonnet Lady."   She is remembered as a loving, kind, happy person who had many pets during her life and dearly loved animals.

Surviving is her dear friend, Ellie Hartsburg of Fayetteville.  She will also be missed by her dog, Autum Rose.
