Boyd McKinley Gill, born August 11, 1930, only son of Dewey McKinley and Mary Bell (Edmonson) Gill, passed away unexpectedly on September 13, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Keyoung Ja.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Keum Joon Kim, married in Seoul, Korea, their five grown children, granddaughter, great granddaughter, and their trusty, loyal Yorkie, Ruby.

Boyd spent his life as a military career serviceman, serving in the Korean War and the Vietnam War.  His 21-year military career and family sacrifice earned him the following medals and commendations:  Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal for Heroism, Meritorious Achievement & Service, United Nation's Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and National Defense Medal.

After retiring from the military, Boyd exercised what he learned in the military as the Deputy Warden of Franklin County Prison.

Later in life, his career evolved into a self-taught furniture maker, furnishing the homes of many, stateside and internationally.  He was an avid Lionel train collector, being the conductor of his many collections.  His love of music ranged from the Big Band Era to Janis Joplin.

Although, he spoke five languages, German, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and English, he loved the simpler things in life.  His favorite vacations were taken sitting under the Big Oak Tree in his back yard with his wife beside him watching the grass grow.

Private services and interment with Pastor Ken Richards officiating, followed by Military Honors.
