Bruce Allan Jones, 84, of Dry Run, PA, formerly of Silver Spring, MD, passed away February 19, 2025, in Mercy House of Chambersburg.  He lived at his Path Valley farm since 1990 and had a warm spot in his heart for living on a farm.

Bruce was born July 3,1940, in Washington, DC, a son of the late Thomas Francis and Johanna Regina (Janz) Jones.  He graduated from Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, MD in 1958 and entered the Navy, honorably discharged in 1961.  He continued his education at Montgomery College in Silver Spring and graduated from the University of Maryland in 1972. He taught Distributive Education at Boonsboro and South Hagerstown High School in Washington County, MD, retiring in January 2003 after 30 years in his teaching career.

Mr. Jones also had a 2nd degree Black Belt in Jujutsu Martial Arts, owning his own studio in Silver Spring. He also taught self-defense at seven prestigious girls' schools in the area.

He was a member of Wesley Yeager American Legion Post 606, Fort Loudon and attended the Vineyard Outreach Center, Shirleysburg, PA.

Surviving are 3 children: Alex, of Fort Loudon, Erin Jett of Greencastle and Matthew of Chambersburg, 4 grandchildren, Alexa, Sydney and Malcolm Jones and Harper Jett and a great granddaughter, Izabella Denison.  Additional survivors include 2 sisters, Jennifer Cook (Ray), Southport, NC and Pamela Ramseth (Doug), Las Vegas, NV, his former wife, Judith (Derrick) Jones Mullen of Greencastle and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brenna Denison and a brother, James Thomas Jones II.

Visitation is Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at 11 AM followed by the service at 12 Noon in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, PA with Pastor Carl P. Horne officiating.
