Carol Snyder, a longtime resident of Three Springs, PA, entered into Rest on May 9, 2026.  She was a loving, generous, and steadfast servant of God whose life was a reflection of grace, compassion, and unwavering faith. She gave freely of herself to everyone she met, and even in her final moments, she continued her legacy of giving by donating her organs to save the lives of others.

Carol was a cherished and devoted member of her church family. She poured her heart into nurturing children and teenagers in the nursery and joyfully supported the annual Ladies Tea Party, creating lasting memories for all who attended. She had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and loved.

Wherever Carol went, she brought a full heart and helping hands. Many looked forward to the fruits of her incredible baking talents—her famous ginger cookies, her unmatched pumpkin rolls, and her one-of-a-kind rhubarb pies were shared with joy and cherished by all who knew her.

Carol was an adventurer at heart, sharing her love of travel and the outdoors with everyone around her. She supported her family on both short and long trail hikes, embraced caving adventures, and warmly opened her home and heart to through-hikers along the Appalachian Trail, local hikers in the Three Springs area, as well as hosting local and out-of-town cavers.

After the loss of their beloved son, Joshua, Carol and Steve created the Joshua Snyder Orange Confidence Scholarship in 2008. For 13 years, the scholarship supported students at Southern Huntingdon County High School, honoring Josh's memory and the spirit he brought to the world. Its name came from one of Josh's favorite sayings: "Confidence is like an orange—once you eat it, it's gone!"

Carol and Steve extend their heartfelt gratitude to every applicant who shared their stories over the years. Reading about students' greatest adventures and long‑term goals became something they looked forward to annually. Your openness and ambition helped keep Josh's legacy alive in a meaningful way.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Steven Snyder; her mother, Martha Braum; her mother in law, Norma Jean Snyder; her siblings, Edward Braum, Robert Braum, Patricia (Claire) Stillwagon, and David (Laurie) Braum; her brothers and sister in-law, David Snyder, Kathy Ansell, Marty (Ellen) Snyder, Tim (Staci) Snyder, her children, Michael (Nellie) Pook, Linda (Todd) Pook, and Paul (Diane) Pook Jr.; her grandchildren, Paul (Hope) Pook III, Dharma (Jamie) Bobo, Roan Russell, Simon Cahill, Solomon Hancock, and Gabe Pook; her great-grandchildren, Chrisyan Bobo, Bella (Scott) Casteel, Julia Bobo, and Penelope Pook; and her great-great-grandchild, Owen Stepp.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Braum; her sister, Marsha (Ernie) Kirschman; her first husband Paul Pook, her brother-in-law, George Ansell, her son, Joshua Snyder; and her grandson, Izziah Cahill.

She has a large extended family of Pook's, Snyder's, Braum's, and Hoffman's who loved her dearly and grieve this significant loss with the rest of the family.

Friends may call at the Pentecostal Freedom Church, 14779 Croghan Pike, Mount Union, PA 17066, Friday, May 15, 2026, after 9:30 AM, followed by the service at 11:30 AM, with Pastor Richard Hamman, officiating. A luncheon will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
