Charles E. Smith, 76, of Fayetteville, passed away March 28, 2024 in Chambersburg Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Barbara Ann (Misner) Smith and father of Christopher A. Smith.

Born December 4, 1947, in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Paul W. and Alberta A. (Weaver) Smith.

Mr. Smith worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and retired from the Caledonia State Park.  He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Marine Corps League and a former member of the American Legion Post, both in Chambersburg.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the South Mountain Fish and Game Association.

As a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, his family meant everything to him.

Surviving with his wife, Barbara, and son, Christopher, are 3 grandchildren, Quinton, Laci and Axton.  Also surviving is a sister, Sharon Dick (Jim), of Shippensburg and 3 brothers, Norman Smith (Jenny), of Chambersburg, Richard Smith (Emma), of Mangum, OK and Randy Smith (Tracy), of Florida.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Smith.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering at the Scotland Community Center, 3832 Scotland Main Street, Chambersburg, on April 27, 2024, between 11 AM and 3 PM.  At 11 AM  Military Honors followed by a memorial service with Evangelist Donald Cordell, Joyful Service Ministry, officiating will take place followed by lunch and fellowship.
