Cheryl Ann Henicle (Feb. 10, 1960 – Feb. 25, 2022)

Cheryl Ann (Rexroth) Henicle, 62, of Roxbury, PA passed away on February 25, 2022, in her home, ending her short battle with cancer.

Cheryl was born on February 10, 1960, in Chambersburg, PA, daughter of Miriam (Beam) Rexroth Snyder and the late Rev. Carl E. Rexroth. She was a 1978 graduate from Shippensburg Area Senior High School, and she completed some college courses at Shippensburg University.

Cheryl is survived by her mother, Miriam (Beam) Rexroth Snyder of Shippensburg; her partner, Randy D. Shaak of Fayetteville; her daughter, Lauren R. Derrick (William) of Mechanicsburg, and her grandsons, Roman L. and Theodore R. Derrick; her sister, Deborah L. Naugle of Newburg; her four brothers, Todd M. Rexroth of Lurgan; Carl A. Rexroth of Shippensburg; Troy M. Rexroth of Orrstown; and Christopher B. Rexroth of Warminster; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother, Sgt. Donald C. Rexroth of Shippensburg.

Throughout her life, Cheryl held a variety of office jobs and most recently was a local general store manager. Most importantly, she was a homemaker, mother and grandmother.

Cheryl held a deep love for history and genealogy, spending much of her free time researching her family roots and exploring historical sites from her ancestors' past. She was an avid gardener and always had a large array of plants in her home, flowers in her yard and vegetables in her garden. Cheryl loved spending time with her family, particularly her adored grandsons. She was the keeper of memories, always with a camera in hand photographing life's moments. She was passionate about reading, politics, the beach, and camping. She was very resourceful and creative, as she was a fantastic artist, baker and cook.  Cheryl was deeply caring and compassionate and was always lending a helping hand. Those who knew her were touched by her kindness, generosity, and bright spirit. She will be remembered and deeply missed by her loved ones, family, and friends.

There will be a graveside service on Friday, March 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery, 114 N. Morris St., Shippensburg, followed by a celebration of life at Cleversburg Community Center.
