Darlene Ann McClure, 75, of Spring Run, entered into rest August 17, 2023 in York Hospital.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl R. McClure, in 2008.

Darlene was born October 21, 1947, in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Leonard and Twila (Rosenberry) Tarner and is the stepdaughter of Betty Tarner, of Caledonia, PA.

Mrs. McClure graduated from high school in St. Thomas and retired in 2009 from the payroll department of the Tuscarora School District, after 36 years of service.

She formerly attended Spring Run United Methodist Church.  Going out to lunch with friends brought her joy and Hallmark movies and some TV shows were some of her favorite pastimes.

She loved animals and was especially fond of her late dog, Skylar.

Surviving is a son, Chad McClure and his wife, Brandy, of Fort Loudon, 6 grandchildren: Lynnzie, Madyson, Gage, Gracie, Elizabeth, and Kasey.   Her stepmother, Betty Tarner, also survives.

In addition to her husband, Carl, she was preceded in death by a son, Devin, and a brother, Ronald Tarner.

The family will receive friends in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, between 6 and 8 PM and Monday after 10 AM followed by the funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor Darwin Goshorn officiating.  Interment Path Valley Cemetery.  Contributions in her memory are preferred to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road West, Chambersburg, PA 17201    www.agettlakjer.com
