Dick M. Corwell, 86, a 53 year resident of Waterloo, passed away Oct. 22, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, including his beloved dog, Sam.  He was the husband of Gail L. (Scott) Corwell, and they observed their 53rd wedding anniversary on July 6th.

Born in Chambersburg Dec. 24, 1936, he was a son of the late James and Anna (Mowen) Corwell and was raised by the late Paul and Freda Nye and the late Robert Corwell.

Dick graduated from Chambersburg High School in 1955, where he played football and baseball.

He had a career as an installer for the former Yocum's Aluminum, in Chambersburg until retiring in the early 1990's.

Dick was a former Constable of Lack Twp., Juniata County and was a member of the Fannett Metal and East Waterford Fire Police and the former Blairs Mills Brethren in Christ Church.

Fond of sports, he played and umpired softball and baseball and was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, the Boston Red Sox and Penn State.  Dick also enjoyed bowling and darts, but most of all, he cherished time spent with family.

He is remembered as being direct in his approach, not beating around the bush and he did not like being called Richard.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Gail, are 3 sons, Shawn Corwell and his wife, Tisha, of Chambersburg, Shane Corwell of Mifflintown and Jay Corwell and his wife, Karen, of Doylesburg; 7 grandchildren, Derek, Breanna, Alex, Ryan, Makayla, Jay, Jr. and Shelly and 2 great grandchildren, Connor and Killian.  Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Patricia Corwell, of Roxbury.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jake Corwell and several half-brothers and half-sisters.

A memorial service will be held November 18, 2023, at 11 AM in the Upper Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, 677 Brick Church Road, East Waterford, PA, with Pastors Pat Roller and Judy Rowles, officiating.   www.agettlakjer.com
