Donald M. "Donnie" McAllen, 60, of Fannettsburg, passed away on January 26, 2022, after a courageous battle with Covid.

Donnie was born July 26, 1961, in Chambersburg. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald T. McAllen on Jan. 14, 2009 and his mother, Janet A. (Seibert) McAllen who recently passed away Jan. 14, 2022.  He graduated from Fannett-Metal High School in 1979.

Prior to graduating, he began his career as a machinist at Ingersoll-Rand (later Volvo) while attending Vo-tech.  He devoted 43 years to the company and his family teased him about being part of the "brick and mortar crew." Co-workers were considered part of his family.

In 1983, he met Leigh Ann Shehan at the Shade Gap picnic.  Donnie and Leigh Ann wed in 1984, enjoying 38 years together. They have 2 children, Aimee Leigh McAllen and Donald Matthew McAllen II.

While he didn't get to retire, he spent his time hunting, raising beef cattle, and keeping his farm and home looking spick and span.  Anything outside, he was there.  He also especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.  Grandson, Keith, was always by his side helping with whatever task needed done.

Donnie and his family had annual vacations to Bradford, PA and Chincoteague, VA where abundant good times and memories were made.  If you knew him, you loved him.

Surviving with his wife, Leigh Ann, son, Donald II and daughter, Aimee Leigh are grandchildren, Keith and Annalee McAllen, brother Daniel McAllen and nieces Breanna, Nicole and Sadie McAllen and his beloved dog, Quincy.

The service for Donnie will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 3 PM in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, with Pastor Ken Richards officiating.  There will be a viewing prior to the service between 1 and 3 PM.  Should friends desire, donations in his memory may be made to Metal Township Fire & Ambulance Co., PO Box 185, Fannettsburg, PA  17221.  www.agettlakjer.com
