Donald M. McCurdy, 88, went home to be with the Lord on April 3, 2021 at his residence in Fannettsburg.  He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Peggy J. (Gipe) McCurdy.

Born June 4, 1932 in Fannettsburg, he was a son of the late F. Kenneth and Edna Mae (Marker) McCurdy.

Following his graduation from Fannettsburg High School in 1950 he served in the Army 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean War from 1951 until being honorably discharged in 1953.Mr. McCurdy was a building contractor and was the proprietor of McCurdy Construction.  He retired in 1989.

He appreciated being outdoors fishing and hunting and in his younger years enjoyed sky diving.  Accomplished in woodworking in his shop at home,  he made furniture, clocks and numerous unique items.  Most of all, he loved spending time with family, friends, and his companion, a Jack Russell, named "King."

Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Dena M. Rosenberry and her husband, David, of Fort Loudon;  a son, James A. McCurdy and his wife, Kimberly of Fannettsburg and 2 grandsons, Chase McCurdy and his wife, Tasha and Tanner McCurdy.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline McCurdy and a brother, Lynn McCurdy.
