Donn F. Romberger, 73, of Chambersburg, formerly of Hagerstown, passed away January 6, 2022, in Chambersburg Hospital.

Born August 18, 1948, in Mechanicsburg, PA, he was a son of the late Gilbert Franklin and Elizabeth "Betty" (Craig) Romberger.  After graduating from South Hagerstown High School in 1966, he enlisted in the Army serving 3 years during the Vietnam era.  He was stationed in Germany and Honorably Discharged from the 46 ^th General Support Group at Ft. Devens, MA.

Mr. Romberger retired from the General Motors Plant in Martinsburg, WV in 2005 after 35 years of service.

An outdoors enthusiast, he liked to hunt and very much enjoyed fly fishing and making fly lures.

He was the father of 4 children: Eric of Greencastle, Matthew who was stillborn, Jason and his wife, Candace of Chambersburg and Ryan and his wife, Megan, of Smithsburg, MD.  The source of his greatest joy were his 7 grandchildren: Grant and Madison, Bailee and Ashton, Releigh, Alden and Trevor. Also surviving is a brother, James Romberger and a sister, Sue Ritter, both of Lewisberry, PA.

In addition to his son, Matthew, he was preceded in death by a brother, Craig and a sister, Sandy.
