Duane Gene "Ike" O'Donnell, 76, of Fannettsburg, who lived earlier in Burnt Cabins, passed away December 31, 2023, in Fannettsburg.  He was the beloved husband of Florence A. (Jones) O'Donnell.

Born September 14, 1947, in Dry Run, he was a son of the late Harry C. and Evelyn A. (Miller) O'Donnell.  When living in Burnt Cabins he left high school and enlisted in the US Navy serving honorably during the Vietnam Conflict as a truck driver and aircraft mechanic.

Ike started out working as a heavy equipment operator skilled in the function of various units used in construction.  Later, until retiring in 2022, he was self employed as a long haul truck driver leased to Admiral-Merchant spending the majority of his time driving with his brother, Tom, across country.

He was a member of Orrstown Lodge No. 262 F. & A. M.  Duane loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed visiting and talking with folks.

Surviving with his wife Florence of 51 years, is his son, Brian K. O'Donnell and his wife, Jill, of Fannettsburg.  Ike loved spending time with his 2 grandchildren, Donovan E., studying at Penn State to be a Park Ranger and Haley A. O'Donnell, a student at Fannett Metal.  Also surviving are 2 brothers, Robbie O'Donnell and his wife, Lois, of Shade Gap and Thomas O'Donnell and his wife, Kathy, of Mount Union, PA and 2 sisters, Joy Sollers and her husband, Jerry, of Burnt Cabins and Rebecca O'Donnell of Greencastle.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronnie, Harry and William O'Donnell.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 2:30 PM in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, with Pastor Darwin Goshorn, officiating.  The family will receive friends one half hour prior to the service from 2 until 2:30.  Interment, with military honors, will follow in Path Valley Cemetery.   www.agettlakjer.com
