Edward L. Hockenberry, 80, of Doylesburg, passed away in his home August 13, 2021.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Thelma J. (Yocum) Hockenberry.

Born at home in Doylesburg,  April 15, 1941, he was a son of the late Lester Franklin and Cora Elizabeth (Hockenberry) Hockenberry.  He graduated from Fannett Metal High School in 1960 and then served in the National Guard.

For over 30 years he was employed with the former DeRose Industries, Chambersburg and then became a pattern maker with D C Pattern & Tooling, Chambersburg until retiring in 2006.

He was a member of the James W. McCartney American Legion Post 232, Dry Run and the NRA.  An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed  fishing and hunting deer and especially turkey.

Surviving with his wife Thelma are two children: daughter, Kathy Horn and her husband, Tim, and a son, Travis and his wife, Diane, all of Doylesburg.  He also leaves 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a sister, Vonnie Winter, of Six Mile Run, PA.  He was preceded in death by a sister Phyllis Sipes and 2 brothers-in-law, Wayne Sipes and Art Winter.
