Ellen C. Hockenberry, 71, of Amberson, formerly of East Waterford, passed away December 30, 2021, in her home. She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Roger D. Hockenberry.

Born September 8, 1950, in McConnellsburg, she was a daughter of the late Jimison Walter and Margaret L. (Weirerick) McMullen.

Mrs. Hockenberry was employed for many years as a seamstress at the former Stanley Co., in Chambersburg.  She was a life member of the Auxiliaries of the VFW Post 6168 and the American Legion Post 223, both of Shippensburg.

Her husband remembered her as one of the best cooks in the country!   Harley, her Pomeranian,  was her constant companion and shadow as well as her bodyguard.

Surviving with her husband, are 2 children, a son, Roger D. Hockenberry, Jr. and his wife, Missy, of Shippensburg and a daughter, Melissa Huffstutler and her husband, James, of Oak Grove, MO, 4 grandchildren, Andrew Hockenberry, Kayla Forney, and Christopher and Zack Huffstutler and 4 great grandchildren.   Additional survivors include 3 brothers, Charlie, Larry and John McMullen and a sister, Joyce Middaugh.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Mary and Pat and brothers, Bill and Jimmy.
