Evelyn R. Runk, 71, went home to her Lord and Savior, January 12, 2025, in Mercy House, Chambersburg.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Joseph A. Runk, on January 4, 2015.

Evelyn was born August 19, 1953, in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Harvey Daniel and Helen (Lehman) Martin.  She lived in Marion, PA until age 10 when her family moved to Path Valley and always felt she was a "Valley Girl" living most of her years in Spring Run.  After graduating from Fannett-Metal in 1971, she worked about 20 years as a seamstress in the former Spring Run Sewing Factory.   Evelyn later had a career with the postal service employed in Willow Hill and Shippensburg until retiring in September 2021.

She was a long-time member of Shady Pine Mennonite Church.  Evelyn loved to crochet, knit, read, do crafts and make cards, as well as being an avid sports fan.  She loved family vacations, especially going to Yankee Stadium and Myrtle Beach brought her much joy.

Surviving are her 2 daughters, Tara Hall and husband, Eric, of Amberson, and Alisha Runk of Chambersburg.  She loved being a grandmother to Logan and Leah Hall.  Also surviving are 2 brothers, Dale Martin and his wife, Loretta, of Waynesboro  and Eldon Martin and his wife, Betty, of Chambersburg, and a sister, Freda Neil and her husband, Marlin "Butch" Neil of Chambersburg. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Martin, formerly of Philadelphia and is survived by a sister-in-law, Harriet Martin of Philadelphia.

Her funeral service will be held in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025 at 11 AM, with Dale Martin, Eldon Martin and Marlin "Butch" Neil officiating.  Viewing hours Wednesday evening 6-8 PM and 10-11 AM prior to the service on Thursday.  Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Path Valley Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance, 344 Leedy Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17202.    wwwagettlakjer.com
