Fred F. Hockenberry, 87, of Willow Hill, passed away July 3, 2022 at Embassy of Woodland Park, Orbisonia.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. (Runk) Hockenberry in 2012.

Born March 2, 1935, in Willow Hill, he was a son of the late Harry and Elsie (O'Donnell) Hockenberry.

Mr. Hockenberry worked for Rosenberry Brothers Lumber Co. in Fannettsburg.  In his free time, he loved to fish and hunt.

Surviving are his children: Fred F. Hockenberry Jr. and his wife, Jeanette, of Edgewood, MD, Nancy Atherton and her husband, Randy, of Chambersburg and Melissa Swanger and her husband, Ronnie, of Doylesburg.  4 grandchildren: Jody Scofield and husband, Denny, of St. Thomas, Jason North, Fort Loudon, Phillip McMullen and wife Shandi of Doylesburg and Elizabeth Metcalfe of Chambersburg.  4 great grandchildren Hunter and Brandon Scofield, Trinadi McMullen and Landon Metcalfe. Also surviving is a brother, John Hockenberry (Saundra) of Fort Loudon and 2 sisters, Rosalie Long and Vonnie Helm (Melvin) all of Chambersburg.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Velma Runk and Mary Hammond and 3 brothers, Harvey, Charles, and Gamble Hockenberry.

In honoring Fred's wishes there will be no funeral, and interment will be private in Path Valley Cemetery along side his wife, Ruth.   www.agettlakjer.com
