Genevieve E. "Genny" Taylor, 90, of Chambersburg, passed on September 23, 2024, in Menno Haven Brookview Healthcare Center.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry M. Taylor on January 16, 2024; they had lived in Chambersburg for 70 years.

Born August 18, 1934, in Willow Hill, where she grew up, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Emma E. (Guyer) O'Donnell.

In her early years, she worked as a seamstress at the sewing factory in Fort Loudon and later as a cafeteria worker for the Chambersburg Area School District.

Genny liked to sew, go square dancing and fish for flounder in Ocean City, MD and Chincoteague, VA.  She was always concerned about her family, and it brought her much pleasure when they visited.  She is fondly remembered for her kindness and gentleness.

Surviving are her children: Larry M. Taylor and wife, Cindy, and Linda J. Dunkle, all of Spring Run, and David H. Taylor and wife, Janet, of Mocksville, NC and her daughter-in-law, Tracey Taylor of Fayetteville.   Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and a brother, Harold "Sonny" O'Donnell of Spring Run.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gregory D. Taylor in 2020, a son-in-law, Kenneth Dunkle in 1998, and 3 sisters, Naomi, Ethel and Dorothy and a brother, William Boggs.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024 at 11 AM in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, PA with Pastors Ryan Henderson and John Semple officiating.  A viewing will precede the service from 10 to 11 AM.  Interment will be in Path Valley Cemetery at a later date.   www.agettlakjer.com
