On May 19, 2025, the world lost a true original, Gregory A. Myers, at the age of 75. Born on September 15, 1949, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late John F. Myers and Isabelle A. (Pomroy). Greg spent his life spreading joy and laughter, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by family at his residence in Shippensburg.

Greg was a man of many accomplishments, yet he carried himself with the humility of someone who preferred to hear your story rather than tell his own. He graduated from Shippensburg Area High School and served in the Army Reserve. Greg was the owner of G.A. Myers Adjustment Company, where he worked as an insurance adjuster. He remained in business for over 40 years. He was a member of the Orrstown Masonic Lodge and was a longtime member of The Shippensburg Fish and Game Club. He was also a proud supporter of the American Chestnut Club.

Greg was best known for his love of hunting. He loved spending any and all free time at his and Barbe's cabin in West Virginia, hunting, fishing, and exploring the property in general. Spring Gobbler season was what he looked forward to the most. Although Greg aspired to live like his favorite mountain man, Jeremiah Johnson, he loved enjoying the outdoors with family and friends. He loved welding in his garage and building projects that had a way of always turning out bigger than originally planned. Greg had a knack for storytelling, but what he loved even more was hearing the stories of those around him, always urging them to "Tell me a story." When asked how he was doing he always replied "Wonderful."

Married on December 5, 1970, Greg is survived by his wife, Barbe Jo (Bowers); two children, Kelley (Sherry) Myers and Kasey (Chuck) Halter; three grandsons, Damian Myers, Blake Mowery, and Grayson Mowery; two granddaughters, Paytan Myers and Hadley Halter. Also surviving is a sister Beverly Polk. He was proceeded in death by two brothers, Robert Myers and Dennis Myers.
