Gregory Allen Neil, 69, of Shippensburg, who was raised in Path Valley which he loved, went home to be with his Lord on May 15, 2026, in Mercy House of Chambersburg.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Cindy L. (Ballance) Neil.

Greg was born June 1, 1956, in Chambersburg, a son of the late Albert Leroy and Viola M. (Oberlander) Neil.  He attended Fannett-Metal High School.

His first employment was at Grove Manufacturing until moving to Ingersoll Rand.  He retired after a 30-year career with Volvo where he served in various departments of the company.

Greg is remembered with much love by his family.  A simple, hard-working man with a wonderful sense of humor who loved the outdoors and hunting.  He was especially fond of the cabin in Fannettsburg that his family shared in building.  In his heart he wished to be baptized which he recently received at the Upper Path Valley Presbyterian Church in Spring Run.

Surviving with his wife, Cindy, are his sons, Zachary Neil and his wife, Miranda, of Spring Run and Colby Neil and his wife, Casie, of Mercersburg, 3 grandchildren, Mason, Myla and Vance.  Additional survivors include his 3 brothers, Mark Neil of Spring Run, Jeffrey Neil (Lucy) of Orrstown and Marlin "Butch" Neil (Freda) of Chambersburg and 4 sisters, Phyllis Eckenrode, and Wilma Umbrell (Donald) of Spring Run, Angela Neil of McClure, and Christina Ives of Fannettsburg.  He is also survived by a nephew, Daryl Neil (Dawn) who was considered a brother and several additional nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Hannah Neil, and 3 sisters, Joyce Sollenberger, Anna Melvin and Shirley Newlin and a brother, Eugene Neil.

The family will receive friends in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, Wednesday, May 20 between 6 and 8 PM and again Thursday morning after 10 AM followed by the funeral service at 11 AM with Rev. Dr. Meagan M. Boozer and Marlin "Butch" Neil officiating.  In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations in his memory to either Metal Twp. Fire & Ambulance Co., PO Box 185, Fannettsburg, PA 17221 or Path Valley Outreach, 11057 Creek Road, Fannettsburg, PA 17221, organizations close to the hearts of the family.
