Harold F. Gomer, 92, a lifelong Chambersburg area resident, entered into rest on March 27, 2025, in Mercy House of Chambersburg.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha S. (Drawbaugh) Gomer in 2020.

Born June 11, 1932, in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Ira and Nellie (Burkholder) Gomer.

Mr. Gomer served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and continued his service in the Army Reserves until 1963.  His early employment was with the Pennsylvania Railroad and later at Letterkenny Army Depot until retiring.

He was a member of Marion Salem Evangelical Lutheran church and was lifetime member of the American Legion Post 612, St. Thomas, VFW Post 1599, Chambersburg, Marine Corp League, Chambersburg, the Chambersburg Club and a member of the American Legion Post 606, Fort Loudon.

Harold is remembered by his family as an excellent handyman and had a love for hunting, fishing, crabbing and clamming.   He greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving is his son, Harold and wife, Dionne of Chambersburg, 2 grandchildren, Jaron Gomer (Brandi) and Carly Tolbert (Justin) and 4 great grandchildren, Talon, Tenlee, Layton and Briar. -Also surviving is his sister, Helen McDonald of Chambersburg.  In addition to his wife, Martha, he was preceded in death by 2 infant daughters, Kimberly Anne and Marsha Sue. His 2 brothers, Charles and George and sister, Jane Pollard also preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 99 Miller Road, Chambersburg, April 12, 2025, at 10:30 AM with Rev. Katy Yates Brungraber, officiating.  The family will receive friends and family at the church prior to the service from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM. Immediately after the church service, Military Funeral Honors will be given by VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard at Norland Cemetery, 2295 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg.  In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations in memory of Harold be sent to Mercy House of Chambersburg, 730 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.    www.agettlakjer.com
