Hazel E. Cron, 62, of Shade Gap, formerly of Newton, NJ and Meshoppen, PA, passed away unexpectedly September 13, 2026. She was visiting Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg with family and was taken to Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital emergency room.

Hazel was born August 7, 1964, in Newton, NJ, a daughter of the late William James and Cora (Decker) Morris. She graduated from Newton High School in 1983. In her younger years she worked in nursing. She was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Cron in December, 2022. After marriage, she and John operated a farm in Meshoppen, PA until 2014, when they moved to their farm in Shade Gap, PA. Her life as a farm wife was full with many duties and chores along with being a faithful wife, loving mother and supportive grandmother.

Surviving are 4 children: Lisa Marie Cron (Adam Krause), Dushore, PA, Noelle Marissa Cron (Stanley Mullet), Shade Gap, PA, Johnny Cron, Shade Gap and Paul Cron (Suwannee), Lancaster, PA, 4 adored grandchildren, Eli Cash Cron, Ryker James Krause, Lexi Rae Cron and Kyson Ridge Krause. Also surviving are 3 sisters, Dot Smalley (John) Hampton, NJ, Sarah Decker (Tim Benson) Matamoras, PA and Betty Morris, Allentown, PA and many nieces and nephews who loved her.

She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Sharon Cornell and Hope Jackim and a brother, Billy Morris.
