Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Janene Mary Quinn (Reiderer),  December 16, 1974 - November 2, 2026, a beloved wife, mother, sister, teacher, and friend whose warmth, humor, and positivity touched all who knew her.

Born in Merrick, New York, Janene was the cherished daughter of Thomas and Mary Reiderer (preceded her). From an early age, she possessed a compassionate heart and a genuine desire to help others. Early in her career, she worked as an adoption caseworker, helping families and children navigate some of life's most important journeys. Her caring nature and dedication to others was evident in everything she did.

Janene’s greatest joy was always her family. She made the selfless decision to step away from her career for seven years to devote herself fully to raising her three children, Owen, Maeve, and Natalie. She adored her children and treasured every moment spent with them. Janene lived fully in the present, creating a home filled with love, laughter, encouragement, and support.

Janene was a devoted wife to her husband, Brian, and together they built a life centered on family. Her love and steadfast encouragement were the foundation of their family.

Later in life, Janene found her true calling as a teacher at Thaddeus Stevens Elementary School. Teaching brought her immense joy and purpose. She loved her students and loved her job.

Janene will be remembered for her remarkable spirit. She was incredibly bright, possessed a wonderful sense of humor, and had a gift for making others smile. Her beautiful blue eyes reflected the kindness and optimism that defined her character. Even in difficult times, she remained positive and resilient, uplifting everyone around her with grace, compassion, and an infectious zest for life.

She is survived by her loving husband, Brian; her beloved children, Owen, Maeve, and Natalie; her brother, Michael Reiderer, and his wife, Julie; her brother-in-law, Joe Quinn and his wife Elysia, who predeceased her; her sister-in-law, Lisa, and her husband, Tim; her sister-in-law, Megan, and her husband, Rich; her brother-in-law, Sean, and his wife, Brandy; her sister-in-law, Maria; and her parents-in-law, Joseph and Rosemary Quinn. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

Janene's legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched through her love, generosity, wisdom, and belief in the goodness of others. She will be deeply missed and always remembered.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter. Our family adopted Frodo in April, and he has been a tremendous source of comfort and love.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, November 12, at the home of our friends, Jake and Jennifer Verhoef. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
