Jennifer Lynn Barnes, 47, of Chambersburg, went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2023, in her home.  Her loving and supportive husband, Lyle, was by her side; they would have celebrated their 30 ^th wedding anniversary on August 7 ^th .

She was born July 24, 1975, in McConnellsburg, a daughter of Bonnie (Weaver) Hobble of Chambersburg.  She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Dorelle Weaver of Shade Gap and an aunt, Crystal Gamble, who was like a sister, of Dry Run. Jenny was preceded in death by her father, Brad Hobble, and an infant daughter, Kaylee Barnes.

Jenny attended Fannett-Metal Elementary School and Chambersburg High School.

She worked for SpiriTrust Lutheran, at Luther Ridge for around 25 years. The majority of her years there were spent as the activity's director. She poured her life into her residents, planning special events, always keeping her eye open for items that would be special for them individually and collectively, reading and visiting with them. She had a special heart for them, and they for her.

Jenny was an active member at Pond Bank Community Church where she and Lyle served as dedicated Youth Advisors. They previously served as Youth Advisors at Cedar Grove Mennonite Church, as well. They were selflessly invested in the lives of these youth, planning many events including numerous mission trips, fun events, and always available with an open home, abundance of laughter and listening ear. Jenny's heart was to bless these children in a way that would impact their futures. Her impact is visible in the close bond that has remained with many of those youth from years ago as well as those she was currently investing in.

Jenny went on several mission trips to Los Toros, Dominican Republic, with Work Team Partners, Inc. She quickly fell in love with the children and the culture while working in the local church school and on construction projects, even getting to connect with students she and Lyle sponsored.

An avid animal lover, Jenny's dogs and pot-belly pig, Wilbur, brought her much joy. She enjoyed planning parties and events, traveling, and decorating.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Pond Bank Community Church, 6555 Duffield Road, Chambersburg. For those not attending the service, the family will receive friends Friday evening between 6 and 8 PM at the church, and again Saturday morning between 9 and 10 AM.
