John Stanley Cron, age 64, of Shade Gap, PA, passed away peacefully at home Friday morning, December 2, 2022. Born in Newton, NJ, John grew up in Layton, later moving to Meshoppen, PA to raise his family on a beautiful farm. Eight years ago, he moved to Shade Gap to his dream farm.

Son of the late John and Hazel (Straway) Cron of Layton, John was a graduate of Newton High School class of 1976. He was a passionate life-long farmer.

A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many, John is survived by his wife, Hazel and his four children: Lisa Marie Cron, her partner Adam Krause, Noelle Marissa Cron, Johnny Cron and Paul Cron. Also surviving are his four cherished grandchildren: Eli Cash Cron, Ryker James Krause, Lexi Rae Cron, and Kyson Ridge Krause. They were his pride and joy, often spending hours with them on the farm.

Also surviving are his sisters:  Wanda Cron, Joan Cron, and Rosalie and her husband, Raymond Bickel as well as many loving nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Irene Townsend in July, 2012 and Josephine Struble in Dec. 2021.

The family will receive friends December 17, 2022 beginning at 11 AM in the Shade Gap Ladies Auxiliary, 21367 Main Street, Shade Gap, PA, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 Noon;  Pastor Adam Shawver officiating.  Refreshments will follow.   www.agettlakjer.com
