Karen Marie (Watt) Smith—beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend—entered the presence of the Lord on December 2, 2025, at age 64, surrounded by her family. Though our hearts ache, we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the everlasting arms of the Father.

Born on January 8, 1961, Karen lived a life shaped by love, quiet strength, and unwavering faith. She served with proficiency and excellence in the law offices at Letterkenny Army Depot for over sixteen years before later working as a purchasing agent at Shippensburg University for more than thirteen years until retiring in 2009.

She attended Grand Point Church in Shippensburg, and in her personal time, she deepened her walk with Jesus through Bible study and fellowship with her 'sisters-by-blood and sisters-in-Christ.' She was an active mother and a present, joy-filled Nana who loved sports, coaching softball, reading, camping, and beach trips—but her greatest joy was always time spent with her family. Known for her nurturing heart and steady devotion, she lived, loved, forgave, and persevered—leaving behind a lasting legacy rooted in faith and wholehearted commitment to those she cherished.

Karen is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Arthur E. Smith, Jr.; her two adored sons, Jared (Alisha) Smith and Brandon Smith (fiancée, Amanda Honeycutt); and her treasured grandchildren—Jaxon, Ava, Tenley, Adley, Coleman, Calvin, and Cameron. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Teresa J. Yeingst and Melissa A. (Donnie) Ballew; her sisters-in-law, Bonnie K. Watt and Kimberly S. Smith; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She now rejoices in Heaven with her parents, Jimmie W. and Mabel D. Watt, her brother, James W. Watt, and her sister-in-law, Christine A. Smith.

Join the family for a commemoration of Karen's life on December 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Grand Point Church–Shippensburg, Shippensburg, PA, where loved ones will honor her memory, share stories, and find solace in the hope of everlasting life. To support the family in honoring Karen and raising awareness of cancer, guests are encouraged to wear purple. Though we mourn her earthly absence, we rejoice that her soul is at rest and her race faithfully run.
