Linda S. Mears, 70, of Amberson, passed away unexpectedly May 14, 2023, in her home.  She is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Robert E. "Bob" Mears.

Born November 13, 1952, in Merced, CA, she was a daughter of the late R.J. Rivero, Jr. and Addie M. Miller and graduated from Merced High School.

Linda had been an active member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 232, Spring Run.  She served as PA District President of the American Legion and as past Vice President of the PA Central Section.  In addition, she was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Post 6168, Shippensburg.

Linda was an avid fisherwoman and hunter. She and her husband enjoyed taking trips, hunting in Africa, New Zealand, Canada and the Western States.

She is fondly remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Surviving in addition to her loving husband, Bob, are sons, Ralph Kelly of Jefferson, TX and Martin Kelly of Chambersburg and a stepson, Robert B. Mears and his wife, Renee of Shippensburg. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.,

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lloyd and Travis and a stepdaughter, Kimberly.

There will be a viewing Sunday, May 21, between 3 and 6 PM in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run.  In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations in her memory to Fannett-Metal Fire & Ambulance Co., PO Box 51, Dry Run, PA 17220.    www.agettlakjer.com
