Marie Eilene (Wadel) Amstutz, 72, of Spring Run, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.  Marie was born on June 3, 1951, to  the late William J. and M. Corynn (Smith) Wadel.  She is survived by her husband, Glenford J. Amstutz, whom she married on October 29, 1971.

Also surviving are her four children, Melanie Martin, of Pleasant Hall, PA, Gordon Amstutz, (Gwendolyn) of Bamberg, SC, Melisa Clapper, (Dwight) of Dallas Center, IA and Marjorie Hartzler, (Jeffrey) of Belleville, PA, 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 5 siblings; Donald Wadel, (Betty), Dale Wadel, (Wilma), Kenneth Wadel, (Vera), all of Shippensburg, PA, and Glenn Wadel, (Rachel) of Chambersburg, PA and Wilma Wadel of Maugansville, MD.

Marie was a faithful support to her husband, Glenford, for 52 years of marriage and 41 years of church ministry.  She was an example of self-less service to her family, friends, and local community, whom she loved.  She maintained a cheerful, uncomplaining disposition despite the various health challenges that she experienced.

Viewing hours for family and friends are scheduled for Sunday, November 12 between 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, PA.  The funeral service will be held in the Amberson United Methodist Church, 18889 Amberson Road, Spring Run, PA on Monday, November 13, at 10:30 AM, with a viewing 1 hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Cornerstone Chapel Cemetery, Amberson.  Memorial contributions may be made to The Voice of the Martyrs, 1815 SE Bison Road, Bartlesville, OK  74006         www.agettlakjer.com
