Mark Franklin Heidel, 55, of York, PA, passed away peacefully at home on June 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born January 22, 1971, in Huntingdon, PA, Mark was the son of Mark E. Heidel and Connie (Bilger) Heidel. He graduated from Mt. Union High School and later earned a degree in elementary education from Penn State and Millersville University. Mark dedicated 31 years of teaching elementary students for Mt. Union School District and Spring Grove School District retiring in 2024.

Mark married Dana (Scott) in 1995 and together shared 31 wonderful years. In addition to teaching, Mark enjoyed helping lead the Children’s Ministry at Praise Community Church in York, fishing, golfing, making wood crafts and spending time with family and friends.

He will be fondly remembered for his fun spirit and generous service to his church and Lord Jesus.

In addition to his beloved wife, Dana, Mark is survived by his parents, Mark and Connie, daughter, Mykela Heidel Parsons and her husband, Jonathan, and his brother, Jason Heidel and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 20, 2026 at 2 PM in Praise Community Church,

705 South Ogontz Street, York, PA 17403. Following the service, there will be a time of fellowship where friends may greet the family.
