Mary Louise Ocker, “Mary Lou,” 93, passed away August 11, 2026, in the Shippensburg Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 14 years, Kenneth L. Ocker, on January 27, 1990.

Mrs. Ocker was born March 24, 1933, in Willow Hill, PA, the last surviving of 11 children born to the late David F. and Ida Mae (Shoop) Umbrell. She attended the Fannettsburg School. She and her husband lived on a farm on Swailes Road, Willow Hill. In addition to helping on the farm, when she was younger, she also worked for Ivan Ehman 15 years as a waitress at the former Val-E Restaurant off the Willow Hill exit of the PA turnpike. Later she was employed part time in the cafeteria at Fannett-Metal School. After the death of her husband, she sold the farm and moved to Green Village Road, Chambersburg, where she resided until entering Celebration Villa in June, 2024.

Mrs. Ocker was a member of Middle Spring Presbyterian Church, Shippensburg. She was a former active member of Lower Path Valley Presbyterian Church in Fannettsburg, where she sang in the choir for 45 years and taught Sunday School and Bible School.

Surviving are stepchildren, Clifford L. Ocker, (Krista Baker) of Normal, IL and Becky Reeise, Indianapolis, IN, 7 grandchildren; great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a stepson, William Ocker and 5 brothers, Clyde, Bruce, Pearl, Arthur and James Umbrell and 5 sisters, Fanny Dunlap, Catherine North, Ivy Ickes, Virginia Umbrell and Rose Taylor.

Friends may call at the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, PA, Saturday, August 15 at 10AM and attend her service at 10:30 AM with Pastor Marlin “Butch” Neil officiating. Interment Lower Path Valley Cemetery, Fannettsburg.
