Matthew "Matt" Erich Werner of Mifflintown, PA met with his Heavenly Father and Savior on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the age of 54 years old.

Born in York, PA on March 31, 1971, Matt is the son of the late Frank H. Werner Jr. and Rev. Sharon (Rottcher-Sullivan) Landis. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Thomas Landis.

A graduate of East Juniata High School, Matt was most recently employed as an associate of Lowes and had been self-employed, running Werner Home Improvements, following years of ministry with CPYM.

Matt was known for his sense of humor, outgoing personality, his genuine love of people, his imagination and creativity, his passion for helping those around him and more than anything, his faith in Jesus Christ.

He is survived by four brothers and one sister: Steve Werner, of York, PA, Mark Werner, of Siesta Key, FL, Michael Young, of Stewartstown, PA, Kent Landis, of McAllen, TX and Solange Archer, of Albuquerque, NM.

In addition to his siblings and mother, Matt is survived by his three children, whom he reminded constantly of his love: Rachel (Werner) Rowles and her husband, Brandon of McAlisterville, PA, Brandon Werner and his wife, Makenzie of McAlisterville, PA, and Asher Werner of Milroy, PA. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Greysley Rowles, Lynxton Rowles, Ezra Werner, Eloise Werner and Elliot Werner.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026,  at 10:00 AM at the River Church Community Room, 47 CJEMS Lane, Mifflintown, PA  17059, with Pastor Ken Hepner officiating. After which, family will proceed to the Mount Pisgah Altar for an ash spreading ceremony.
