Maxine F. Stewart, 97, of Spring Run, entered into rest in Embassy of Woodland Park, Orbisonia, on January 1, 2024.  Born October 1, 1926, in Neelyton, she was the daughter of the late Cloyd O. and Drucilla (Locke) Flood. Her husband, Walter J. Stewart, died in 2006.

Maxine retired as floor manager from the former Spring Run Sewing Factory, Dalco Industries.

She was a long-time member of the Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, Neelyton.

Her early years growing up on the farm gave her a strong work ethic.  She also loved to sew and enjoyed the special joys of Christmas.  Her family remembers her really good cooking and that she was a great mother and loving wife to her husband.  Family was everything to her and she and Walt enjoyed many trips in their motor home and spending Winters in Arizona.

Maxine is survived by 2 daughters, Marty Carlin and husband, Stephen, of Spring Run and Lisa Bsales of Shippensburg.  She also has 2 grandchildren, Liza Mixell and her husband, Jason, of St. Thomas and Zachary Mowen of Shippensburg and 4 great grandchildren, Carlin Henry, Lexi and Stevie Mixell and Julia Mowen.   Also surviving is her sister, Ella Jean Phillips of Bradenton, FL.

She was preceded in death by 1 brother and 4 sisters.

Interment will be private in Pine Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Neelyton. A memorial service will be held at a later date.    www.agettlakjer.com
