Maxwell  S. "Smokey"  Owens Sr., 76 of East Waterford went to be with the Lord at 2:45 PM on June 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born October 22, 1949, in Honey Grove, he was the son of the late Brooks Ritter Owens and Jennie Mae Hoffman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a Sister, Betty Whileman, a Great Grandson, Weston Ryan, and Great Granddaughter Harper Miller.

He is survived by his children, Clyde and Bobbie Owens, Steve and Cathy Owens, Domito and Russ Hoyer, Brooks Owens, and Audrey Owens. He is also survived by 18 Grandchildren, and 27 Great Grandchildren, with one more expected.

He was a Lifetime Member of Handyman, North America Hunting Club, Fishing Club, RMEF, NRA, Whitetails Unlimited, Trout and Ducks Unlimited and Local Union # 1180.

Smokey was an Avid Hunter and Outdoorsman. He enjoyed whittling wood, and collecting knives, coins, and antlers.

Friends may greet the family in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run on June 13, 2026, from 10 AM until the time of his Memorial Service at 11 AM.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to either Tuscarora Grange #774, PO Box 85, East Waterford, PA  17021 or Tuscarora Heritage Days, PO Box 5, East Waterford, PA  17021.
