Michael W. Peterson, 58, of Chambersburg, formerly of Spring Run, passed away April 11, 2025, in Chambersburg Hospital.

Born May 7, 1966, in Waynesboro, his parents were the late Carl W.  "Chub" and Fay E. (O'Donnell) Peterson. He graduated from Fannett-Metal High School in 1984 and received his bachelor's degree in Finance at Penn State in 1992.  He was patriotic and served in both the Army Reserves and the Navy.

Mr. Peterson was devoted to his occupation as a financial planner/CPA and was very passionate about his work. He began his career with Prudential, then Tucker Financial and lastly self-employed with his own firm, Faithful Steward of Chambersburg. He was a former member of the Chambersburg Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce. He also was active with the Penn State Alumni Association, formerly serving as President on their board. Mike enjoyed Penn State sports, including hockey & football. Michael also enjoyed fly fishing.  Most of all, he enjoyed his grandchildren, nephews and spending time with family.

Surviving is a sister, Sharon E. Peppernick of Spring Run and his nephews, Billy Peppernick of Spring Run (Chloee and her daughter, Hattie) and Matthew  Peppernick, (Braelyn) of Norfolk, VA and their daughter, Cora.  Also surviving is his fiancée, Oneta Carter of Chambersburg and her children, Hunter Miller (Harlee) of Chambersburg, Chris Carter (Tricia), Niceville, FL, Cassy Sutton (Thomas), Crestview, FL and Candace Isom  (Sean Abbott) of Nashville, TN.  Children of Hunter (Harlee) are Bentley, Ella, Cohen, Cayde and Hayes, children of Chris (Tricia) are Bailey and McKenzie.

A viewing will be Sunday, April 13, 2025, after 3 PM, followed by the funeral service and time for sharing at 5 PM in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, PA, with  clergy Darwin Goshorn and Marlin "Butch" Neil, officiating.  Interment in Path Valley Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.

Mike loved children and enjoyed challenging them at "PopBuddy" school.  Some of his nicknames were PopBuddy, Old Uncle Mike and Tiny.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation.    www.agettlakjer.com
