Miriam H. Lehman, 93, of Willow Hill, PA, entered her heavenly home on June 21, 2024, at Mercy House in Chambersburg, PA. She is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, J. Wilmer Lehman. They were married on Aug. 1, 1953, in Miriam's Shippensburg home.

Born on Oct. 30, 1930, in Shippensburg, PA, Miriam was a daughter of the late John W. and Alice (Frey) Horst. Formerly of Chambersburg, they resided in Smyrna, DE, from 1955 through 1957, during the period Wilmer completed his 1-W service at Smyrna Welfare Home.

Miriam was a long-time member and active supporter in a number of ways of Shady Pine Mennonite Church. She also volunteered at the Cumberland Valley Relief Center. She served on the Board of the Franklin County Cooperative Extension Service and was a former member of the Path Valley Farm Women's Group. She took numerous gardening courses and loved growing food, especially for her family.

In addition to being a loving mother and wife, Miriam had a beautiful singing voice and was a beautiful, faithful, prayerful woman of God. She was a nurturer in numerous ways to her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, surviving are 6 daughters: Gail Lehman (John Biasucci), Arlington, VA, Neva Neil (Richard), Willow Hill, PA, Rita Mellott, Frederick, MD, Mary Jo Hall (Jack), Spring Run, PA, Wanda Lehman (Mike Rice), Willow Hill, PA,  and Wilma McMullen (Tom), Fannettsburg, PA; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 sisters, Ruth Brown, Thelma Eberly and Edna Eberly (Rich) all of Chambersburg PA, and Joyce Landis (Ray) Brandon, FL, and several generations of nieces and nephews. In addition to her granddaughter, Alyssa Daihl, she was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Paul, Wayne and Carl Horst and 3 sisters, Lois Martin, Mary Lehman and Janet Keener.

The family will receive friends in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, PA, on Wed., June 26 between 6 and 8 PM and Thurs. June 27 after 10 AM also at the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11 AM. A private interment will be held for the family.
