Norman R. "Bud" Hockenberry, 84, a resident of Magnola, Mifflintown, passed away February 22, 2024 in Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.  He had formerly lived in Mifflin and Thompsontown.

Born December 16, 1939, in East Waterford, he was a son of the late Rodney and Cora (Hampton) Hockenberry.  In his early years, Norman worked for the former Hoffman Textile Mills in Shippensburg until taking employment with Empire Kosher Poultry in Mifflintown.  He retired from PennDOT operating mostly out of their Newport Stockpile.

Norman really enjoyed automobiles, particularly Ford Thunderbirds and Chevy Corvettes.

Surviving are 3 brothers, Leonard B. of Doylesburg, Merle and Roy, both of Chambersburg, and 6 sisters, Evelyn Woodward, Duncannon, Audrey Colledge, Mechanicsburg, Vada Zimmerman, Marysville, Ella Hockenberry, East Waterford, Nancy Harris (Robert), Doylesburg and Bonnie Zeigler, Shade Gap.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Wilmont, Edwin, Daniel and Dale.
