Patricia Elaine Hockenberry, 73, of Amberson, passed on to her heavenly home on June 2, 2025, in John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, with her cherished family by her side.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Garry, February 6, 2024.

Pat was born November 9, 1951, in McConnellsburg, the adopted daughter of the late Carl E. and Mary M. (Runk) Elter.

In her younger years, she was a supervisor at the former Grief Clothing Co. in Shippensburg.Later, she was employed with Franklin County Head Start and retired from Ventura Foods, Chambersburg.

Pat was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 232, Spring Run.  Her family fondly remembers her as a loving wife, a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed food and was a good cook.  She was family oriented and especially loved children. Spending time with family in Florida and attending the Blue Grass Festivals in Gettysburg brought her much enjoyment.

Surviving are 5 children: Danny Cook (Tiffany), Coral Springs, FL, Michelle Stouffer (Andy) of Orrstown, Lori Cook, Chambersburg, Jamie Thrust (Brian) Shippensburg, and Cory Hockenberry (Shannon), Chambersburg and 11 grandchildren, Ashley, Megan, Brittany, Joshua, Viktoria, Lindsay, Brandon, Trevor, Blake, Brianna and Trenton John and 12 great grandchildren.  Also surviving is her brother, Kirk Hammond of Chambersburg and sister, Glennda Lowson (Tom) of Mt. Alto.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Brian Hammond and a granddaughter, Megan Cook.

Pat's service will be held Friday, June 6, 2025 at 2 PM. in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, with Pastor Marlin "Butch" Neil officiating.  The family will receive friends Thursday, June 5 between 6 and 8 PM. and also Friday, prior to the service from 1 to 2 PM.
