Robert L. "Bobby" Barges, 67, a long time Franklin County resident, recently of Newville, entered into rest January 12, 2024, in Chambersburg Hospital.  He was the loving husband of Kathryn (Harding) Barges.

Born March 5, 1956, in Chambersburg, he was 1 of 8 sons born to the late Stephen C. and Pauline Edna (Armstrong) Barges.  He attended Chambersburg High School and worked for Martins Pastry in Chambersburg for 13 years.

Bobby had been in fellowship for many years at Greenwood Hills Bible Chapel in Fayetteville.  He was a member of Wayside Baptist Church in Leitersburg, Maryland and most recently attended Shippensburg Independent Baptist Church.

Surviving with his wife, Kathryn, are 5 children: Robert Barges, Jr. and his wife, Clarissa, of Mercersburg, Tiffany Ann Barges and Courtney R. Garcia and her husband, Michael, all of Shippensburg and Samuel Joseph Barges and Marybeth Raymonde Barges at home, 6 grandchildren, Molly, Trenton, Dakota and Aaliyah, Jessie and Kaia and 3 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 5 brothers, Stephen and his wife, Carol, Terry, Roy and Jimmy all of Chambersburg and Christy of Shippensburg and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Gary and Roger.

A memorial service will be held in Greenwood Hills Bible Chapel, 7062 Lincoln Way E., Fayetteville, on February 3, 2024 at 11 AM, with Pastor Jeff Ward officiating.  A light luncheon will follow the service.   www.agettlakjer.com
