Ronald Howard Hughes, "Buck," 67, of Shippensburg, passed away in his residence on June 15, 2024.

He was born October 1, 1956, in Chambersburg, a son of Ray E. Hughes, Sr. of Chambersburg and the late Betty (Holtry) Hughes.  He graduated from Chambersburg High School in 1974 and served 4 years in the United States Navy being honorably discharged in 1979.  Following his military service, he had a career of 31 years at Letterkenny Army Depot retiring in 2007.

He had been a member of Marine Corps League, Amvets Post 224, American Legion Post 46 and Loyal Order of the Moose No. 842, all of Chambersburg. Mr. Hughes stood tall in his patriotism and had a heart for the prisoners of war. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially visiting upstate New York.  He also was fond of hunting and fishing in his younger days.

Surviving with his father is a daughter, Brittney N. Hughes of Fayetteville and 4 grandchildren, Tayana Diggs, Dushawn Hughes, Montez Littleford, Jr. and Star-Asia Gilliam.  Also surviving are aunts, uncles, cousins and several generations of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Ray Hughes, Jr. and sister, Georgianna Rosenberry.
