Ronald R. "Ron" O'Donnell, Sr., 78, a resident of Willow Hill, PA, since 1970, left us, surrounded by his loving family on September 14, 2023, following a short battle with cancer.  He was preceded in death by his wife, June L. (Boggs) O'Donnell, November 23, 2015.

Born August 19, 1945, in Shirleysburg, PA, he was a son of the late Harry C., Sr.  and Evelyn A. (Miller) O'Donnell and attended Fannett-Metal Schools, where he met his wife, June.  They were married on March 7, 1964, and lived their entire lives in the Path Valley community.

Ron participated in farming activities before becoming a truck driver at Wayde Cisney Lumber Co., located in Shade Gap.  He achieved over 1 million miles safe driving time while hauling freight for TIMCO trucking, located in Roxbury and did local lumber hauling, as well.  Ron also spent his summer weekends at the Path Valley Speedway Park, performing duties as the gate keeper and head of security.

Throughout the winter months you could find him enjoying several of his hobbies; things such as cracking walnuts and hickory nuts for those who loved to bake.  His family remembers the painstaking and tedious task taking hours and hours, patiently picking and proudly ending up with "entire halves" of hickory nutmeats.   When nut cracking became too stressful, he would often resort to crushing cans, which he collected after all the late-night racing at the speedway.

Surviving is a daughter, Nancy Ridenour, of Hagerstown, MD and son, Ron "Ace" O'Donnell, Jr., and his wife, Kimberly, of Ft. Louden, 3 grandchildren, Heather Ridenour, her companion, Brian Henry,  Caitlyn O'Donnell and Tyler O'Donnell and a great grandson, David O'Donnell.  Additional survivors include 3 brothers, Duane "Ike", his wife, Florence "Flip"; Robbie, his wife, Lois; and Tom, his wife, Kathy;  2 sisters, Joy Sollers, her husband, Jerry; and Rebecca O'Donnell, 2 sister-in-laws, Gloria O'Donnell and Trudy O'Donnell, numerous nieces and nephews and his faithful cat companion, "Trouble."

In addition to his wife, June, he was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Franklin W. Ridenour, August 1, 2011, and 2 brothers, William "Bill" O'Donnell and Harry "Odie" O'Donnell.

His viewing will be held in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, Spring Run, on Thurs., Sept. 21, 2023, between 6 and 8 PM.  A graveside service in Path Valley Cemetery, Spring Run, will be Friday, Sept. 22, at 10 AM, with Pastor Philip G.
