Sarah J. Reese, 90, formerly of the Oakville section of North Newton Township, Cumberland Co., entered into rest August 2, 2025, in the Chambersburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Reese, in 1994.

Born November 1, 1934, in Fayetteville, she was a daughter of the late Ralph K. and Bertha Mae (McClure) Reasner and attended school in Fayetteville.  Following her marriage, she worked on the family farm supporting her husband in the many facets of being a farm wife, including the preparation of many meals, particularly for the holidays.

Sarah was a member of the Oakville United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 223, in Shipppensburg.  She loved her family and was especially supportive of her grandchildren's sporting events.

Surviving are her daughters, Jo Ellen Reese of Shippensburg and Tammie S. Rotz and her husband, Mike, of Dry Run, with whom she resided for 9 years, prior to entering the nursing home in January 2023.

Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Ben, Valerie, Eric, Tasha, Michele, Kelly and Lewie; 7 great grandchildren, Eric Jr., Fisher, Patience, Caleb, Cody, Mark and Mayan; and 5 great great grandchildren, Ellie, Emmit, Brexley, Boston and Cora Mae and her sister, Alice Faye Staley of Gettysburg.  Several generations of nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Frank L. Reese and Jessica Reese, a great great grandson, Devon Reese and 11 brothers and 5 sisters.

Her viewing will be held Tuesday, August 5, between 5 and 7 PM in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run. No viewing Wednesday, but the family will receive friends after 10 AM, followed by her Memorial Service at 11 AM., with Rev. Lisa Grabb, officiating.
