Shirley Jane Brown, 90, of Amberson, formerly of Fayetteville, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in her home. She was the wife of 64 years to James Brown, they were married May 6, 1961.

Born September 6, 1935, in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Janet (Pugh) Crider and attended Chambersburg High School.

In her younger years, Shirley was employed by the J. Schoeneman Sewing Factory.  Mostly, she is remembered as being a homemaker, lovingly caring for her family.   Other interests included sewing, crocheting and doing ceramics.

Shirley was a long-time member of the Laurel Grove United Methodist Church.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are 2 daughters, Tina Neil, and her husband, Tony, of Willow Hill and Kim Goodling and her husband, David, of Myrtle Beach, SC, 2 grandchildren, Nathan Neil, (Cierra) of Fannettsburg and Jason Mixell of Mont Alto, 5 great grandchildren and a great, great grandson.  Additional survivors include 3 sisters, Donetta Mellott, Phyllis Crider, her husband, Jerry and Sharon Hollar, her husband, Joseph, all of Fayetteville and a brother, Frank Crider, Jr. also of Fayetteville. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, and 2 sisters-in-law, Nancy Kirgan and Lois Frye, both of Amberson.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Sprow and 3 brothers, Glen, Ronnie and Baron Crider.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation Saturday, January 10, 2026, between 1 and 3 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 3 PM in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, PA, with Pastor Darwin Goshorn officiating.
