Shirley L. Johnson, 79, was called home to be with the Lord in her Doylesburg residence on February 26, 2022.

Born May 24, 1942, in Dry Run, she was a daughter of the late Jesse L. and E. Louise (Dillman) Johnson and lived in Path Valley most of her life.

Shirley worked many years as a seamstress at several former textile industries.  Her employment included East Waterford Textile, the Blain Sewing Factory and the Dallco Sewing Factory in Spring Run.

She was a long time member of the Doylesburg Area Community Center and had been a volunteer with the American Red Cross.  Working in her garden and with her flowers brought her much enjoyment.   She also loved crocheting, cooking and baking.  Her family remembers the pleasure she received from decorating for the holidays.

Surviving are 3 brothers all of Doylesburg:  Dwight J. Johnson, Larry Johnson and his wife, Irene, and Eugene L. Johnson and his wife, Linda.  Additional survivors include 5 nephews, 2 nieces and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Walter and Lawrence Johnson and a sister-in-law, Nancy Johnson.

Her funeral service will be held in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 11 AM with Pastors Judy Rowles and Darwin Goshorn officiating.  Viewing Tuesday 6 to 8 PM and Wed. prior to the service 10 to 11 AM.  Interment Doylesburg Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Doylesburg Area Community Center, c/o Betty Hockenberry, 23282 Burns Valley Road, Doylesburg, PA 17219. www.agettlakjer.com
