Thomas E. "Tommy" Varner, 59, a dedicated dairy farmer of Fannettsburg, passed away unexpectedly from an accidental incident at his farm on January 14, 2025.  He is survived by his beloved wife and helpmate of 37 years, Linda K. (Warren) Varner.

Born December 9, 1965, in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Helen Louise (Clough) Varner and is survived by his father, Roy Thomas Varner and his wife, Joyce, of Shippensburg.  Growing up in Shippensburg he graduated from Shippensburg Area High School in 1983.  He and Linda moved to Amberson in 1995 and then to their farm in Fannettsburg in 2017.

In addition to caring for his own dairy farm, he had also worked at Hoffmans Mills in Shippensburg and Dream Farms in Newburg.

Tommy and Linda attended Grand Point Church, Chambersburg.  With his agricultural interest, he was part of the Farm Bureau and member of American Jersey Cattle Association.

He dearly loved his children and grandchildren.  Through their tears they lovingly described him, aside from being a committed farmer, as patient, kind and accepting of everyone.  He was a "special dad" to many young friends.

Surviving with his wife, Linda, and father, Roy, are his daughters, Valerie L. Baumgardner (Bradley) of Spring Run and Natasha K. McCurdy (Chase) of Willow Hill, 5 grandchildren, Madison, Dalton, Ellie, Allison and Laken and a brother, Ryan Varner (Carrie), Spring Run. Also surviving are his aunt and uncle, Gary and Edna Fenton of Shippensburg and a brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Lisa Kline, of Shippensburg and a brother-in-law, Timothy Johnson and his wife, Pam, of Coolidge, AZ and his many loved nieces and nephews.

Viewing Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 between 6 and 8 PM and again Saturday after 10 AM followed by the funeral service at 11 AM in Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, PA with Pastor Lawrence Metzler, officiating.  Interment Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg.
